Yun Jeong-in

Major in Transportation System Engineering at Ajou University

I had lots of experiences during the itinerary for 5 nights and 6 days. Before departing to Vietnam, I spared no effort to prepare the program so that Vietnamese students can have fun and insightful classes. Even though there were some changes in schedule due to local situation from Thanh Dong University, I and others would be able to complete the program successfully thanks to SWCIC and the translator. What we prepared for the Korean language class was self-introduction, the introduction of Korean history, numbers and currency in Korean. I was a bit surprised because Vietnamese students¡¯ Korean level was better than I expected. So, our team was able to deliver more deepened content. The most impressive part was expressing numbers and currency in Korean. Many students had so many interests in this part and actively participated with passion. I got touched by their enthusiasm to learn Korean.

Apart from the Korean language class, there was a Korean culture exchange program that we prepared such as introducing Suwon and Hwaseong Fortress, making Suwon Hwaseong Fortress Miniature, singing K-POP together, and wearing Hanbok (Korean traditional costume). The cultural exchange program was a more interactive one than a language class by making, singing, playing and wearing all together with Vietnamese students. The most impressive memories were two; the first is Korean traditional games and the second is wearing each country¡¯s traditional costume. We played Korean traditional marble game (Gong-gi), Jegichagi, and Tuho. We all enjoyed the games with a smile on our faces which was very unforgettable. Also, wearing each country¡¯s traditional costume was such a valuable memory.

In every itinerary, I was fully satisfied with everything like the great food (I ate more than 2 bowls in every meal. The taste was that good), nice accommodation and even the convenient moving route. It was my first time visiting Vietnam and I was happier than I thought I would be. Most importantly, I thought this successful result came out because every single participant (cobalt team, red team, SWCIC staff, and translator) put so much efforts for this program. Actually, I was a bit worried due to the delay of the official itinerary which was originally supposed to depart in August. However, at this moment, I can say that I was worried about nothing. If I¡¯m not graduating this year, I would definitely participate in it one more time. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity for the valuable experience!
