제남대학교 어학연수 후기

제남대학교의 어학연수는 저에게 또 다른 세상을 안겨준 기회였습니다.

우선 중국이라는 나라가 알고 싶지 않은 나라에서 더 알고 싶은 나라가 되었습니다. 어학연수 전 저는 중국에 대한 편견을 가지고 있던 사람이었습니다. 8년 전 갔었던 상하이 여행에서의 음식들이 입맛에 맞지 않기도 했었고, 지금까지 마주했던 중국인들이 대부분 시끄러웠기 때문입니다. 하지만 어학연수 시절 동안 중국을 직접 보고 겪으며 중국에 대한 관점이 바뀌게 되었습니다. 

칭다오, 난징, 운남 등을 여행하며 중국에는 정말 아름다운 곳이 많음을 느꼈고, 마라샹궈, 베이징 카오야, 카오위, 훠궈 등을 먹으며 중국음식은 정말 다양하고 맛있는 음식이 많다는 것을 알게 되었습니다. 중국의 광장무, 황색과 홍색이 가득한 모습, 춘절과 국경절, 중추절의 모습은 한국과 대비되어 그 아름다움을 더했습니다. 호의적이고 인정 많은 중국인 친구들은 저에게 감동과 따뜻함을 전해주었습니다

중국어 역시 배우기 전에는 이 세상에서 제일 어려운 언어라는 생각을 하였지만 단어를 외우고 나니 간단한 대화가 되고 이해를 하게 되어 중국어를 배우는 게 재미있어지고 흥미를 갖게 되었습니다. 중국인 친구들뿐 아니라 핀란드, 몽골, 멕시코 등 세계의 다양한 나라의 친구들과 사귀며 중국 이외의 나라에 대해 알고 이해하게 되었습니다. 특히 한국이라는 익숙한 장소에서 벗어나 새로운 곳에서 생활하며 제 스스로를 돌아보게 되었고 이전에 비해 좀 더 독립적이고 제 자신에 대해 더 잘 아는 사람이 되었습니다. 

만약 제가 수원시국제교류센터에서의 장학생으로 뽑히지 않았더라면 이 모든 것이 가능하지 않았을 것입니다. 수원시국제교류센터의 장학생으로 선발되었기에 어학연수 생활 동안 부담 없이 공부하고 즐기고 체험할 수 있었습니다. 중국에서의 어학연수 생활이 저에게 새로운 세상을 가져다 주었듯 앞으로 어학연수를 떠나게 되실 분들께도 새로운 세상을 마주할 수 있길 희망하고 응원합니다. 이렇게 좋은 기회를 주신 수원시국제교류센터에 다시 한 번 감사의 인사를 전하고 싶습니다. 감사합니다.

My Memories at Jinan University

Studying at Jinan University was a great opportunity for me to experience the new world. 

First and foremost, China has become a country I would like to know even though I had had a prejudice against the country for noisy people and unpalatable foods from my trip to Shanghai eight years ago. However, I started to have a different point of view on the country while I experienced the real China in Jinan.  

Exploring Qingdao, Nanjing and Yunnan in China, I found out that China was filled with a variety of wonderful dishes such as Spicy Stir-fry, Peking duck, grilled fish and hot pot as well as marvelous places to visit. In addition, Chinese Square Dance, streets full of red and yellow, and Lunar New Year and the National Day enhanced the beauty of the country. My friendly Chinese friends also impressed me a lot. 

Contrary to my expectation, I was completely absorbed in learning Chinese which I had considered to be the hardest language in the world. The more I memorized Chinese words, the better I could communicate with people, which made me finally get interested in the language. Furthermore, I could understand more about other countries by making friends from all around the world like Finland, Mongol and Mexico. I also found myself becoming more independent and self-conscious. 

If I hadn’t been selected as a scholarship student by Suwon Center for International Cooperation, everything I mentioned above could have never happened. I was able to experience the country and study without any pressure during my stay in Jinan due to SWCIC’s support. I wish the students going to Jinan University this semester can see the new world just like I did as I learned new life in China. In the end, I would like to express my greatest gratitude to Suwon Center for International Cooperation for offering me this great opportunity.
